Fiscal Responsibility

Muncie residents deserve a city that is a good steward of taxpayer dollars and is always looking for ways to improve or expand city services in a way that further enhances quality of life and property values without raising taxes or taking money from schools.

Infrastructure

In recent years, Muncie has struggled to maintain its infrastructure. Mayor Ridenour has proven he is ready and willing to meet the challenge. He has already started by employing an in-house city engineer and creating the city’s first in-house road crew to be more efficient and cost effective when paving roads. In 2022, the city paved three times as many roads as it does in an average year.

Public Safety

Safety is a top issue for families in Muncie and mayor Ridenour is investing in public safety. Since Ridenour too office the city has hired 19 officers, increasing the number of officers from 86 to 105. To increase transparency and enhance officer and public safety, the administration purchased body cameras for all the officers.

Housing Development

Muncie’s vitality depends on the ability to continue attracting new businesses and families to the city. These new businesses and families will require developing new and revitalized housing options that will meet the needs of the community today and in years to come. New developments under Mayor Ridenour have included projects like Storer Estates and a new apartment project in downtown Muncie that is now fully occupied.

South Side Investment

For too long the south side of Muncie has been forgotten. Lack of vision led to leaving the southside out of economic development plans for the city. Mayor Ridenour and his team are investing in the south side, starting with tearing down dilapidated structures like the Red Carpet Inn and welcoming new businesses like the Gillman Home Center.
